New snowblower acquired.

The weather today was miserable.  We got a layer of ice, and then a little bit of snow on it.  Most things are white again.

I went to look at a snowblower today.  It is a little bent, but I spun it over with the belt and it should be fine.  The story about it being bent is that shortly after the guy had moved, he was using it for his driveway, and rode it into a curb.

The back of the snowblower is in line with the story.

Some other things the guy mentioned: don't use the OEM belt, it stretches real bad and needs to be replaced annually, or you can buy a tractor supply belt and it lasts 5-6 years.  That should sound familiar.  He also recommended welding on some skis to the bottoms of the skids.  That should also sound familiar.  This is what happens after one year if you don't.

The ones on the unit do have some beef added.

The auger is in excellent shape, especially since the unit was bought in 2003.  The cutting edge has seen better days, but it too was augmented with some thicker steel and should be fine.  It could use some paint, but that is a minor thing.

The PTO plate is in decent shape, the belt is only a year old.

Came with a bunch of goodies. too.  It came with a cab.

Wheel weights.

And some pretty nice chains.  They have the extra bite for ice.
