I was too slow to capture a picture, but I saw my black bear in the road when I went to work on Friday morning. As soon as he saw me he ran back into the woods.
Friday afternoon I finished up the cutting on the trailer. It is now a flatbed for Matt to build on.
I did notice when I cut off the rails that they never bothered to paint the fenders under where the rail sits. Talk about being cheap...
I got the first coat of paint on it on Friday, but finished up the painting as best I could with all the moisture on Saturday.
Saturday I went and delivered it. It had been a while since I went to visit Stefan.
Unlike most cats who go and stick their heads in my shoes for reasons I don't understand, his cat spent several minutes sniffing my feet directly instead. She was very friendly though.
Courtesy of Lowe's not delivering when he paid for delivery, I did go with Matt to pick up the materials he needed for his project Sunday morning. It had started raining of course. My truck was full. Very full. The back seat was full too (if you look in the window, you can see the bags of insulation).
I got home Sunday afternoon, and while I did a little food prep stuff (chopping up peppers), I for the most part vegetated and didn't do much. I did have a greeting party when I got back though.
I am intending to take most of the railing and stuff I cut off to the scrap metal place, but if anyone needs a wire ramp from a 5x8 trailer, I have one available.
None of this was on the check-list, but the trailer is complete. Hopefully I have time this week to finish up what little work I am planning to do to the cap, though it is supposed to be wet and miserable most of the week. I have decided I am going to try to limp it through. I plan to JB Weld the hinge, remove the right lifter, and fix the latch with whatever scraps as best as I can.
Current to-do:
- Design deck
- Build deck
Build armoire.- Install whole house filter.
- Refurb cap
- Access panel upgrades in master closet
- Back yard drainage.
- Insulate the water lines
Take scrap metal to Buffum. Clean up trash.- Close up tiny home. Seal up plumbing.
- Storm doors
