Disappointingly unproductive weekend

Not a whole lot happened during last week.  I did get to see a gorgeous sunset on my way back from shopping last week though. Sadly mostly in the rear view mirror.

I did finally get the smoke detectors fixed.  Apparently they also require a test after replacing the batteries too which is a little bit annoying, but I don't suppose that is a bad thing.

One other thing of note from last week was that I went up the town hall and apparently a ton of people complained about the new tax assessments and values skyrocketing, so they went through and did a "reevaluation".  The new assessed value is a lot more in line with what I would have expected.  Maybe my taxes won't go up quite as much.

Last weekend wasn't the most productive either.  I felt like crap on Saturday and didn't do much.  I did some cleaning and chores, and that was about it.  I did get motivated on Sunday though and cleaned up the front a bit.  The area where the hot tub was last year is now cleaned up for winter.

I got most of the other side cleaned up, but I haven't moved the saw horses.  I am hopeful that I can build some shelves for the second room and get the insides cleaned up before winter (and would need these to stain them), but that is unlikely.

Largely because I went to start digging the ditch, and the battery in the excavator is dead.  Shortly after I discovered this, Tim stopped in for a visit, he was up from Rhode Island (that is why my chairs were out in the picture above).  We chatted for a bit.  Then afterwards I went and looked up where the battery is.  I think it is under the foot plate (I can't remember what it is called at the moment).  It doesn't look like it will be too bad, but I didn't finish it in the waning light on Sunday and haven't had daylight since.

Fall is in the latter stages now, but there is still some decent foliage to be seen.

Before Winter:
  • Back yard drainage.
  • Close up tiny home.  Seal up plumbing.
  • Clean off driveway at top.
  • Smooth driveway enough to not catch the snowblower.
  • Winterize equipment
Unlikely to happen at this point until next year:
  • Build shelving for
  • Insulate the water lines
  • Take scrap metal to Buffum.  Clean up trash.
  • Storm doors
  • Gravel the driveway
  • Side yard drainage
  • Eliminate cap.
Winter Projects:
  • Design deck
  • Install whole house filter.
  • Access panel upgrades in master closet
  • Cut trails, or at least mark paths.
